Fonthill House staff are exceptional. They are knowledgeable, kind, considerate and dedicated in what they do. The staff ensure that residents have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The nurses lead the clinical team who are fully supported by the nursing assistants and care assistants. Fonthill House have a hospitality team, a full time housekeeping team, an experienced maintenance team and very professional and fun activities team. Everyone at Fonthill is employed for their naturally caring attitude and all are expertly trained.

Real home cooking and exceptional menus

Fonthill House has a restaurant like no other. The quality food prepared by an experienced team of chefs produce delicious freshly prepared food each day. Much of the food is sourced locally from St Albans and the surrounding area. The chefs work closely with dietitians and nutritionists to create appetising menus which can be tailor made for each guest. There are the finest meats, freshly caught fish, nutritious smoothies and juices that all help improve well being, good health and vitality.

Activities

The activities at Fonthill House are among the best in the country. From wine and canapés high up at 400ft to playing piano at the Ritz. Fonthill House goes more than the extra mile to ensure its residents enjoy their stay. In the past activities have included tea at the Ritz, a trip to the London Eye and there are weekly drinks at St Michael’s Manor. Fonthill House care home is like no other care home and there have also been high profile visiting speakers. Art classes, yoga classes are all just part of Fonthill's weekly programme.

Luxurious Bedrooms

Fonthill House has the most stunning bedrooms. The home uses specialist beds and high grade pressure relieving mattresses for residents with high care needs and more homely divans for residents with low needs. Every bedroom has a its own call bell that enables residents to request assistance from care staff or room service. all rooms have a smart TV and high speed WiFi, this is especially useful so residents can use facetime to keep in touch with their family.

Music Lounge

The Fonthill House music lounge is host to a variety of live musical performances. These include young talented musicians to choirs and very relaxed sing a longs. The University of the Third Age host monthly classical music meetings so residents can spend the afternoon enjoying the music and have a discussion afterwards.

Art Studio

There is a great area for art classes at Fonthill House. Classes for beginners to experienced painters are created by the home's art teachers. Water colours, oils, pastels and mosaics are all regularly used.

Roof Terrace and Gardens

Fonthill House is surrounded by three separate gardens and has a superb and relaxing roof terrace on the first floor. In summer there are regular outdoor activities including gardening club. The Fonthill House annual summer fete showcases the work created throughout the year by the residents in the art classes. Residents generously sell their work and donate the proceeds to charity.
