Tring Market Auctions is an independent auctioneers and valuers for over 20 years under the directorship of Stephen Hearn. Stephen Hearn was previously part of Brown & Merry, a company formed in 1832 by William Brown. When the company started it occupied part of the old cattle market utilising the buildings when available for auctions. It now has an extensive purpose built auction house forming probably one of the largest and best-known auction venues of its type in the Home Counties. It is conveniently located in Tring on the edge of the Chiltern Hills 30 miles from London and Oxford. Sales attract a very wide range of buyers from across Great Britain and Internationally. Many buyers represent the trade and other specialist collectors. The salerooms permanent staff and consultants are able to deal with all periods of furnishings and collectibles. The experienced auctioneers help provide a friendly and entertaining atmosphere on sale days making it an enjoyable venue for both business and pleasure.

General Auctions

General auctions are held every other Saturday. Full viewing of items can be made the Friday before the auction or on the morning of the auction. There are 4 different rooms that have auctions on the same day, the Middle Room, the Cattle Pens, the Pig Pens and the Main Room. Starting times are staggered for each room the Middle Room starts at 9.30am, Cattle Pens starts at 10.30am, Pig Pens start at 12 noon and Main Room starts at 12 noon. Make sure you get your catalogue so you can bid in the correct room at the right time. Catalogues are usually inexpensive at £2 and can be picked up on the day.

Fine Auctions

Fine Art Auctions are usually held every 3 months. They are ever growing in popularity and offer finer items for sale.

Le Gavel Cafe at Tring Market Auctions is a great place to enjoy some delicious food, they serve: homemade cakes, brownies and scones, homemade soups, jacket potatoes and salads, freshly made sandwiches, hot rolls, roast pork baps and paninis plus lots of drinks too.
