The White Horse Welwyn

Independent gastro pub

The White Horse is an independent gastro pub set in an 18th century building nestled between the pretty cottages of Welwyn Village. The White Horse is a relaxed and casual drinking and dining environment with tasty food served 7 days a week, alongside a fantastic range of drinks. You can cosy up by the fireplace, soak up some sun in our beautiful pub garden, or catch the game on our 55″ HD TV showing Sky Sports & BT Sport. There is a beautiful, contemporary-meets-traditional restaurant space for dining, which is also available for private hire, weddings and birthday celebrations. Great food and drink if you are looking for friendly service and a place to relax.

Drinking and Dining

The menu is all about great Grilled Dishes, Pub Classics & Sharing Dishes. On Sundays we serve a great Roast with a selection of meat options, available alongside our main menu. Our drinks menu ranges from world & craft lagers, to a notable wine list and an outstanding gin selection. We’re also proud to be accredited by Cask Marque for our 5 Cask-conditioned Real Ales. The White Horse always recommend booking a table, but we’ll always do our best to accommodate you on those spontaneous visits during busy times.

The seasonal menus are all about great ingredients, carefully sourced from our butcher, fishmonger & grocers. It is the perfect blend of Pub Classics, Grilled Dishes & Sharing Plates, with plenty of choice for all. The pub also cater for all dietary requirements. Make sure to also check out our Lunch menu and the best Sunday Roast around!

Welwyn Village

Old Welwyn is just off the A1(M) at Junction 6, close to Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Stevenage and Hertford, and a stones-throw from London if you’re looking escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The village was first inhabited by Iron Age settlers, and later the Romans who built villas, bath houses and roads. In the 17th century, Welwyn became an important coaching stop from London to the North. Today, Welwyn is a beautiful, busy country village, with a variety of Pubs, Boutique Shops and Restaurants; a great area for dog walking, cycle rides, nosey-ing around the shops, or a relaxed pub crawl.
