Grace Muriel House is managed by the exceptionally experienced Abbeyfield Society who work to ensures all residents receive the highest quality of care. The home provides the highest possible standards of residential care for older people and they provide both long stay and respite care.

Grace Muriel's staff are experts in kindness and compassion when it comes to delivering care and supporting for both residents and their families. All residents are treated with the utmost dignity and respect whilst promoting independence. Staff have the very best and latest training to ensure they meet the highest standards of care. Residents often find their health and well being greatly improves when they no longer have to worry about the challenges of living independently. Grace Muriel believe that it’s important that residents remain as independent for as long as possible and to allow them to make their own choices. The home focuses on the well being of residents while promoting nutrition, hydration, and safety.
Outstanding rating by Care Quality Commission
Grace Muriel House has an overall rating of 'OUTSTANDING' from the Care Quality Commission. This is the highest award possible by the association. The head of the CQC’s Inspection for Adult Social Care said about Grace Muriel House, “People living at the home felt they were treated as individuals and they mattered. The care people received was personalised, staff paid attention to detail and demonstrated pride, passion and enthusiasm for those they supported. They continuously looked for ways to ensure people had positive experiences and led fulfilling lives."

Grace Muriel House has 36 rooms which includes 21 rooms with en-suite facilities and 15 rooms with vanity units and washbasins. The home has expanded over the years to accommodate the changing needs and requirements of residents. There is a beautiful kitchen area with super tea and coffee making facilities and a large fridge. For residents looking to make new friends or find companionship there is a beautiful accessible courtyard and lovely garden with summerhouse. The outside area is an award winning space which is bright and airy making it the perfect place to relax and unwind for peaceful moments. There are two very comfortable dining areas and residents love to enjoy the social aspect of dining. Delicious and varied meals are served and Grace Muriel House pride themselves in providing an excellent food service. Meals are freshly prepared by qualified cooks, using locally sourced produce.
Activities
Grace Muriel offers an extensive activity programme within the home. There are a dedicated team of activity coordinators, who understand the importance of the residents emotional and physical well-being. There are trips to many different places such as trips to the theatre, garden centres, the seaside for lunch and parks. Sometimes just going shopping is the perfect day out. There are also artist and hobby groups and a wide range of exercise programs run by qualified exercise instructors for the over sixties.
