Brief History

Anthony Bush is the Managing Director of Bushwood Antiques and has been so for more than 35 years ago. He began his career at an early age. When he left school, he joined a firm of solicitors and during his lunch breaks spent time hunting for antiques in central London. After four years he decided to go it alone. With £200 and a £60 van he created Bushwood Antiques. His first shop was a disused Victorian art college in St Albans. Then, from the mid-seventies, a wholesale showroom and warehouse on Upper Street, Islington, where he was based for 22 years before relocating to Stags End where his home is based. Originally purely a trade business, Bushwood Antiques has transformed itself in the last few years to one of the largest retail outlets for Antiques in the UK.

Showrooms and warehouses

There are over 25,000 sq feet of showrooms and warehouses which allow customers to view pieces with ease. In the warehouses you can choose from 20 linen presses in a row next to 100 sideboards of every shape and design. Whilst in the two showrooms you get to see the pieces in a more traditional room setting.

A highly experienced team of restorers and polishers are in the workshops on site ready to restore each piece to an individual client’s specifications. All the work is carried out using traditional methods of cabinetwork and polishing.

Interior Design and Antique Dealers Services
