Welcome to Hitchin Market, one of the largest and finest outdoor markets in Hertfordshire in the heart of Hitchin town. Featuring over 150 covered stalls, the market is open every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are specialist market days throughout the year, including a weekly Antiques Markets every Friday and Craft & Farmers once a month.

Tuesdays General Market

Tuesdays is general market day and open from 6am to until 3.30pm. Come along and start your day with a hearty breakfast from one of our many early traders and enjoy walking around the many stalls. 

Fridays General Market, Antiques and Collectibles

Every Friday, from 6am to 3pm, enjoy not only the general market but the added excitement of looking around the many antique and collectable traders. It's a fun treasure hunters delight as there is a great selection of antiques, curios, books, toys, bric-a-brac, house clearance and so much more.

Saturdays General Market

Join us for our extremely popular general market every Saturday from 6am to 4.30pm

Last Saturday of the month (Craft & Farmers Market)

Every last Saturday of the month we hold Craft & Farmers Markets. There is a huge selection of Artesian foods, produce, makers, bakers and so much more on offer, all local and specially invited. Dates for 2024 are:

Hitchin Market is an outdoor market featuring over 150 covered stalls, some shuttered units, all on hardstanding with lighting and electricity points, as well as a number of open pitches within the main market and on The Riverside.

Licenced pitches are available

We accept casuals on the day and pre-booked by email info@hitchinmarkets.co.uk To trade at Hitchin Market you will require Public Liability insurance with a Limit of Indemnity of no less than £5 million. Food vendors must be correctly and fully certified by their local authority. We try to maintain a balanced market, always contact us first to ensure your suitability to trade with us.
