Independent art deco viewing

Going to The Odyssey cinema in St Albans is a wonderful experience. The recently restored, independent Art Deco cinema has been a labour of love. After a momentous and vigorous campaign by the St Albans Civic Society, supported by thousands of St Albans inhabitants, James Hannaway, the owner of The Rex Cinema in Berkhamsted and a small team of investors purchased the derelict building on 9 April 2010. James Hannaway fronted the project after the stunning success of the previously restored Art Deco cinema The Rex, in Berkhamsted.

The choice of films is varied and always interesting. The Odyssey shows a wide selection of films every month and these include new releases, foreign language films, cult films and classics.
